I’m thinking about this for when I finish grad school. I’ve been bouncing around between wanting to move to New York, Seattle, and now Rome. It would be awesome~! I would learn the language when I get there. Wish me luck!

i’ve been here for 4 months now. rome is an amazing city and definitely a cool place to live.
i’ve vistied briefly before, but i am going to rome for 2 weeks in february (this time of year starts at about $525 roundtrip, by april it is over $1000.), and plan to find a person to stay with through globalfreeloaders.com. hopefully i can learn enough in those two weeks about the city, and what area i want to live in to make the arrangements to move there when my lease runs up, here in america, in august.
things to think about: taking out loans to fund it, getting a work, student or freelance visa (for those want to stay more than 3 months in italy), insurance, learning enough italian to get around before you go, bank accounts, apartment/utilities, transportation (which is easier to deal with than in many cities), weather, and what to bring, bringing a pet overseas, applying for a european union pet passport (any vet in italy can set one up for you), getting your pet all required shots months in advance to be taken overseas.
i should be doing this in september if all goes well with my study abroad plans.
Well, none of the goals I posted is so hard to get eh, save for moving to Rome.
I would have liked to come up with more exciting things for that list but I am glad to say that my life is set the way it is and I dont need that many things to add to it. It’s alright for now.
I am going to get the camera within summer time and possibly go on a trip to either Budapest, Oslo, or some other big European city soon.
As for saving up more, I’m doing my best.
I am not one to hang out that much nor to waste money on reckless shopping; all my money goes to the railway for travelling back and forth from Naples to Viterbo and Roma, thats where my bf lives.
Ask for advice: Get help from people who've accomplished this goal
