I read 20 books in 2008. It was actually really easy, especially because I was motivated to write a book, so I looked at other books to learn new vocab and whatnot.
Because I read so much it’s easier to understand more challenging books, and my vocabulary has expanded. =D
How to read 20 books in 2008
How I did it: I planned on reading 50 books for this year, but seeing as I am still finishing my thesis (for graduation), I wasn't able to read all fifty.
But I'm happy to say that I've gone as far as 30 books. The first 20 books were the easiest to finish, though. All I ever did was find books I wanted to read, buy, borrow, or steal (just kidding) them, then get some good food and drinks, and read away.

Yeeeaah, i know, its 19 days late, but i just haven´t been in the mood to read.
But this was probably the first non-fictional book i read that i actually enjoyed- read it in only a few hours.
It´s quite a big thing for me, especially once a month (NOW)- i´m no closer to any decision but i liked seeing my motivation for it.

I read one more book for 2008, while on the Christmas holiday. (I finished it on December 30, 2008. My dad was in the hospital for a second day of recovery from shoulder-replacement surgery.)
Number 21. The Sunday Philosophy Club by Alexander McCall Smith, 2004, Anchor Books. An amusing book about a woman who reviews articles for a philosophy journal (that was probably the most amusing part, reading about the range of topics that are submitted for review). She happens to see a man fall to his death while at the opera and subsequently seeks to resolve why he fell. I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t nearly as enchanting as any of the books from McCall-Smith’s series of the “No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency.”

My mom gave this book to me for christmas- and i am glad it´s so thin because i hated it!
Naive, pseudo-esoteric, sentimental trash!
„Hör auf die Stimme deines Herzens!” (S. 135); „Jeder glückliche Mensch trägt Gott in sich.” (S. 130) ; „Die Augen zeigen die Kraft der Seele.” (S.142)
I kind of liked the idea that alchemists are just wise people without the “plumb into gold” thing, but in the end, it turned out that the other alchemist could really do that… omg.. thank god its over..
January 4th: Der Alchemist- Paulo Coelho

I guess this thing started in 2007 when I wasn’t reading so much and added it on…but I started to count the number of books I read this year and it so far exceeds 20…and I didn’t even start counting the novels and fun stuff I read outside of class.

I finally complete my 20th book on the last day of 2008.
20 books was my initial plan, I have once changed it to 30 books, however, I realised that I could’nt be able to finish them so I stick to my original plan.
Well, it’s same as last year. Hopefully I can read more in the year of 2009.
Anyway, it’s done!
Abbaskid78 I love 43 Things!
Interesting book, easy read – I didn’t want to put it down.
