I don’t think this type of job is for me. I get scared thinking of dealing with high school kids. I will revisit this goal in a few years. Maybe I can grow a pair before then!

That I am again immersing myself with the Spanish culture. I used to watch lots of movies, read books and listen to Spanish music. I am doing that again. Last night I watched “Sex and Lucia”. Great movie, but the Spanish was difficult!!!
Going to be a long process

But I started it today. I am more sure of this than before. I explored my Nutrition field options and I’m pretty much out of luck with getting an R.D. I refuse to let my degree go to waste because I can’t get accepted into an internship, so I am going to teach high school instead. I have my bachelor’s, so I am about halfway there.
I have a ton of graduate level Spanish courses I have to take, since that’s the subject I want to teach. It will take at least 2 years just to do that part. I also have to gather up some hours of volunteering with children so I can show the admissions people that I am qualified.
I already contacted an admissions counselor, so my official start date is TODAY! It will be several years until I can teach. I am aiming for 2012, fall.
3.5 years away from getting this goal!

Counting college and everything, it took about 4 years. You need to study for it though. No fun not passing and wasting $150!

Getting my teaching certificate has been the most rewarding accomplishment ever. Although we are currently on strike :( there is nothing better than being in the classroom with a bunch of eager students. Good luck!!!
Wow…what a goal to try to achieve. This goal is so wonderful because it not only benefits you, but imagine what you will bring to the life of others!!! I am a teacher, an educator, and soon a school counselor. I have not regretted this decision, although lawmakers want to punish me financially for choosing this profession. Good luck to you!!!
