LouiseChange of goal

Not really giving up, but changing slightly: I’m going to go for “do one non-routine household thing each week”. 6 years ago

cafegroundzeroI'll have to keep a close eye and an open mind on this, but I'm doing it

Have to keep working on this one, but I can say I’ve been fixing little things.
Meanwhile, must make room for some immediate, daily goals, the first of which shall replace this one as number 1. 6 years ago

cafegroundzeroI wanna fix the bike, but here I got some recycle-ables to take over... & oil change

Let’s get the recycleables out, plus wash some clothes I need the commercial washers for. 6 years ago

cafegroundzeroOh oh oh! I am making progress!

I just fixed the seat of my wife’s bike. And I took the old seat, and put it on a bike I’d scavenged from the street. We will end up with several very serviceable bikes, and we can sell what we don’t need! I’m so psyched! 6 years ago

cafegroundzeroI fixed the scratches on the truck... but.. THOSE DAMN TILES ARE STILL TEASING ME!

Arrghhh..

Time to go to bed. Tomorrow.

Oh yes, it’s always “Tomorrow” with me. Oh my gosh, I’m writing to myself! 6 years ago

cafegroundzeroMUST! CHANGE! OUT! KITCHEN TILE

This will have to be my obsession for this week, determining how many squares of tile I already have saved up (accumulated, brand new tile, through a lucky score), and how much left to buy or find. 7 years ago

shg8eI visit Home Depot weekly

Its officially a habit now. Second nature. 7 years ago

shg8eThe little repairs add up.

We spent many weekends on this part of the house. In fact, much of the back wall has been rebuilt. No choice, it was rotted. We did alot of interior work while the weather was cold, but now we’re back to the exterior. We try to do a little each weekend and are surprised when all of a sudden a big chunk of work is completed. 7 years ago

cafegroundzeroAh well, at least i changed the lad's diaper again.

I think I’ll get a cost estimate on new linoleum. 7 years ago

cafegroundzeroI'm working this weekend, so Monday'll have to do.

cafegroundzeroO.K. The project below, and getting rust off

We’ve been letting the old fashioned trike rust. That’s a no no.

Time to clean off that rust and paint it. I could think of a couple other things that need to be de-rusted. 7 years ago

cafegroundzeroTime to take stock of materials

I’ll need some paint, need to find a scraper, get the bucket, sandpaper and sand block and what I’ve got together.

I’ll probably need to buy some rust remover and steel wool.

Hmmm…. 7 years ago

Kevina beginning

I have a ton of little handy-man thing that need to be done around my house, like fix drawers, fix doors, replace carpet, redo kitchen flooring, change light-bulbs…

Installed a bathroom sink this weekend, but unfortunately it was not in my house. Guess that it is a start though. 7 years ago

cafegroundzeroI'll paint the window trim that needs it

This is for this week. 7 years ago

LouiseMeter Cupboard

Lat weekend we painted most of the meter cupboard white. This weekend we want to finish it up using a smaller brush to get at the awkward bits behind pipes. 7 years ago

cafegroundzerothis weekend, it's the flag mount

I went and bought one, and got to meet the owner of the store at the same time.

The next day, I installed it. Now our large Stars & Stripes flag proudly hangs during the day. 7 years ago

cafegroundzeroWith the help of a neighbor and a friend, we did it!

Got the mower repaired, mowed the lawn by mid-afternoon Saturday. Oh how beautiful, lovely it looks! 7 years ago

cafegroundzeroTried to indentify the parts and order them at work

Irony: I work in a place that holds and distributes parts for lawnmowers, but am so busy I haven’t had time to get the parts I need at home.

Today is Saturday, so I’m trying to do it via neighbors and small businesses which are open now. Don’t want to have to resort to Walmart.

Am stepping out the door to take care of this NOW! Post and go, yo! 7 years ago

cafegroundzeroThe lawnmower needs repairing.

Can I find the manual?

Will have to use the manual lawnmower (muscle powered) and hand trimmers till I get this fixed.

The repairmen around here aren’t up to snuff, unfortunately. And surprisingly? Or not so. 7 years ago

cafegroundzeroInstall those smoke detectors we've had for far too long

Embarrassing. No more talk about it. Got to set them up. Tonight! 7 years ago

cafegroundzeroCan't start this morning. Or rather, won't.

After this morning’s internet session, am driving to the city to help a Friend with his apartment. 7 years ago

cafegroundzeroI'm considering the framework on the east window

for starters, the window which looks from the kitchen to the east. Some of the frame hasn’t been painted. 8 years ago
