Takes like 5 minutes to get set up, and you’re there.
I’ve even finally figured out how to submit tracks that I listen to on my iPod, using AudioPod. But man, is that far from perfect. I’ll keep it up, though, I think.
In any case, here I am.
I’m an audioscrobbler whore. With just over 8,500 tracks submitted, you get a picture of what’s in my iTunes… That and I’m syndicating it all over the place—and that’s just so cool!

Well it is easy and interesting. Now lets see what else it can do..
Tracks played: 1404
Unfortunately, Audiosrobbler isn’t optimized for soundtrack listeners like myself.
Currently, Audioscrobbler doesn’t use the Album metatag, which means that the “Main Title” from the following albums all end up being displayed as the same song (“Jerry Goldsmith – Main Title”)—which isn’t very illuminating since they are all different pieces of music!
- Alien
- Capricorn One
- Damien – Omen II
- Dennis The Menace
- Inchon
- King Solomon’s Mines
- Malice
- Masada
- Patton
- Psycho 2
- Rudy
- Runaway
- Star Trek – First Contact
- Star Trek – The Motion Picture
- The Blue Max
- The River Wild
- The Sand Pebbles – The Deluxe Edition
- The Wind And The Lion
Hopefully, they’ll fix this oversight someday.
That said, I still think it’s worth doing.
I love people coming up with new cool things for the web (like this site) where the content is the users… I haven’t been using it long, so I’m not entirely sure that it will succeed in doing anything neat for me besides show me stats on what I listen to – but even that is cool.
I like the way I’m identified and clustered by nothing more or less than the music I play. It’s a safer, truer, and more stable user identity than the accretion of ‘it seemed to be clever at the time’ postings and poses that constitutes a user identity in a conventional internet community.
Absolutely worth doing… also try out http://last.fm/ to take advantage of your recommendations in streaming radio!
