For me, this would be one of the greatest thrills I could have…seeing wild horses running free.

I’ve spent some time in the Kiamichi mountains around Medicine Springs in Pushmatahah county Oklahoma. There are lots of wild Spanish Mustangs there. My cousin and her husband have purchased many and breed them to preserve the bloodlines. I have lots of pictures, but none on this computer. They’re pretty incredible.
ok, well they were actually wild ponies, but they’re amazingly beautiful. Go to Assetegue Island out in Maryland—they roam free all over the island and you go go there and see them for yourself.
I thought I saw wild horses in the New Forest in the south of England, until someone told me that they were just ponies owned by locals who turn them out to run free for the winter. I actually did see wild ponies in the Outer Banks, grazing in the back yards of people’s expensive vacation homes. They looked fat and happy (the horses, not the people).
WE have wild horses in wyoming and I’ve been lucky enough to see them. The ones I’ve seen were in the Muddy Gap area, but there are even more in the Pryor Mountain Range. They are amazing.

Just moving it over to 43Places, under wanting to visit Wyoming.

I thought the kids would love to see wild horses too. And I’ve always been drawn to WY, then I found out it’s the least populated state, even less than Alaska. Why it must have that certain feel to it, like it’s unowned. Still belongs to the horses, and other critters.
