i want to, want to and want to…but how..tell me what to do??? i was in class 9 then decided to play tabla..but my dad had not helped me..and said that all is worthless, but now i am in college and i decided…so i will do…no one can stop me..
Since I was little I wanted to play the violin, but my parents never wanted me to take music lessons. A few years ago when my father died, my mother finally allowed me to take lessons, however I chose the guitar as my instrument then.
I love the guitar but I kept wanting to play violin as well, so last year I finally decided to buy a violin and in February I started my lessons.
It’s going really well so far. I guess it’s thanks to playing guitar for a few years that I have pretty good control over my left hand, which helps a lot when playing violin.
In just a few months time I’ve already worked on Pachelbel’s Canon in D, a Vivaldi concerto and a Fantasie by Telemann, so things are going really well I think. It’s not as difficult as I thought! :-)
But how will I know when I’ve truly accomplished this goal? Technically speaking I can play the violin, but I don’t really consider myself a violinist yet.
I think my goal will be to play the Gavotte en Rondeau by Bach well, then I consider this goal done.
I didn’t practice for a week and feel like I’ve regressed a month. Hopefully it’ll come back with a snowballing vengeance.
I haven’t had a lesson in a month. I need to practice. Going to see the concert at the CSO reminded me that I had such a long way to go. And rather than discourage me, it encouraged me.
This is hard, because I’ve had a few months of lessons, am not yet good enough to start out on my own, but I’m learning, practicing almost every day and feel like I’m improving by leaps and bounds.
I’m not there yet, but feel awesome about it.
Go me.
It was hard at first, but it’s getting better. This is the hardest instrument I’ve learned… or maybe I have too much pride now that I’m older.
Hotlemontea restless
practiced today , some parts sounds nice~~ but having a lot of trouble with bouncing the bow
I just bought a violin today, so now I’m all ready to go down the street and pay for the lessons :D
