Laura invited me to join her in August in NYC. Unfortunately it’s in the middle of the week, so I don’t know if I can swing it. I’ll have to look into it as I’d like to go.

How I did it: Visited family, saved up and bugged my husband. I wouldn't let up. Geez..what else am I supposed to write? We saw the Statue of Liberty, drove up 5th avenue, saw Ground Zero - Oh, 43.00 for the day for parking, but that included a bus pass, so it wasn't so bad. I was taken back by so many people trying to sell stuff--didn't know whether it was real, hot or a knock off. Bought a necklace for my daughter and a purse. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I went with my Girl Scout troop in 2005 and I didn't have to plan everything out and get tickets and whatnot since the leaders did that for us but I do have to say the experience was completely worthwhile. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I have a few photos of my New York City trip online if you want to see them. I traveled there before the Twin Towers fell, and they are in a couple of my photos. It seems strange that I took their photo during the last month they were there.I was planning on attending all 30 Major League Baseball Stadiums, and of course the Mets and Yankees both fall into this category. I will be posting more photos of the ballparks soon… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I begged my mom to take me for my 21st birthday I saved for a year for shopping money she paid for everything else, we had a great time , just have the money drafted from your account you wont even tell its gone Read how I did it…
How I did it: I never really had any desire to go to New York City but then a friend planned a five-day trip for us over New Year's Eve. We drove out and stayed with various friends in Queens, Manhattan, and Brooklyn. We walked all over the city and across the Brooklyn Bridge. It was FREEZING but I loved it. Read how I did it…

I have plans to take a trip through NY, PA, VA, DC, and Niagara, Toronto, Quebec, Montreal. I’ve been to all these places except PA…but I thought it would be nice to see them again as an adult. I remember going to NY when I was around 6 yrs. old or so, but I don’t remember too much. So it’ll be a good trip.
I really want to go to see some states that I have yet to visit…but one thing at a time! I want, I want, I want…

my aunt dropped off a hugely thick folder full of pedigree charts on her (& my mom’s) side of the family. I had some of this on disk, but not all of it, by any means. Many of the people named are familiar to me from my months of scanning old family photos. Now, linking more of them to actual places on the globe, the concept of ancestors seems more real.
There are so many photo sites & tourism sites that show such great views of some of those places that I’m really wanting to visit some, esp the handful of villages in Wales, England, & Denmark that haven’t grown much & have more left from the years my ancestors lived there than most other cities & towns.
The problem is, I haven’t even made the trip over to Seattle that I’ve been telling myself to take for a long, long time. I still have a problem traveling. Illogical panic.
Seattle ought to happen first, and then New York City, before I even think about crossing the friggin’ Atlantic Ocean. (besides, some ancestors came through Castle Garden, some lived in upstate NY, & I have a cousin up there, others lived in CT & MA & PA.
It’s hard to remember what it was like to sign on for months overseas as a student without giving the traveling part a second thought, didn’t know anyone else in the program, didn’t experience any illogical anxiety. At all. What the hell happened?
I will get over this.
Reading about so many 43Ters’ trips & plans for travel boosts my energy in this goal, while simultaneously making me hate all your guts for being able to do all that!! Not really I’m just envious.
Seattle again, then NYC. Yes. It will happen. It will. It will. In my lifetime. Before I die. Before I retire. Before I turn 40. Before I even think about Europe again.
I visited for three days in August 2005. It is such a fantastic, vibrant city…though the taxi drivers are crazy!
There are so many places I want to visit and have fun in and New York City is one of them!
I don’t want to stay in a hotel so I checked out a homestay site. I think that all I need to do is make a reservation and put down a deposit and make travel plans and all that…

I grabbed a spur-of-the-moment opportunity to drive down with some guys to Portland for the NCAA basketball games. Tickets were so scarce, no one I knew could find one, but when the chance came up for a ticket & a ride, I jumped on it without enough time to get nervous & back out.
So, that trip to Portland didn’t panic me at all, makes me want to make another trip, maybe to Seattle or even San Francisco. Another no-panic success would be a much bigger second step.
WOO HOO!!

Yea, I hear it is very dirty, but TV and movies manage to make it look so cool.

Nadili is lazy!
This one looks easy. My parents will give me the money for the tickets and I have a place to stay with a friend. Still, I haven’t booked the flight yet (I’m going to take care of that this weekend) and I promised my parents I would save the money to spend there. I’m not a big saver so it’s a challenge. The trip will be in a school week so I’ll have to plan ahead so it doesn’t interfere with my video dance short.
