Doing Damn Dandy ;-) is happy that I have not smoked a cigarette in 21 days!! YAY!!! :-)
It’s just one day that HIV/AIDS comes to the front lines. Where the news anchor shows a red ribbon beside their head reads off some statistics and make the concerned look. Well to way to many more people it’s not just one day a year that it’s on their minds. For my brother it was 5,110 and that is just a guess. He lived with diagnosed HIV for 14 years. I so wish there was an end to this a cure something. Many of those years he was very sick and had really battle back one time 9 years ago. Then in June of 2005 my brother was diagnosed with cryptococcal meningitis. A disease realted only to HIV/AIDS patients. He battle that for 11 months. This past May my brother battle was over. He laid down his shield and had to fight no more. My brother was so strong that all of those he was HIV positive only, it was in the last month and half of his life that his count was low enough to be classify him as an AIDS vicitm. He had 4 t cells left. He even named them. I learned a lot from my brother in life. More than I think even I will ever known. But I did learn something that I will never forget. “Don’t let life make you bitter, but better” My brother is an amazing man and I love him deeply. I just want everyone to know this is such a serious illness. And it is in life everyday not just every December 1.
