Scuba Diving
So went on holiday to the Domnican Republic, which was fantastic and amazing, incredibly beautiful and relaxing place. However they had free scuba diving sessions in the pool. My boyfriend was keen to have a go so I did too. Very weird espcecially as I could not seem to sink until they loaded me up with weights. Strange feeling at first as you worry you won’t get your breath but air keeps coming however deeply you breathe!. Cannot say I was a natural as the guy kept me down there much longer than bf and then said for me to have a go later. This was because bf was keen and obviosuly the guys knew he would be less keen if I did not do it too!
However got over fear and did a proper session in the pool where you have to learn to take your rebreather out, share it, fill you mask with water etc. We then went out on the boat the next day. Wet suits, weights kit and paraphenalia all extremely heavy and not conducive to making you feel that it is all a good idea when you are trudging out to the boat. Scariest bit for me was when they have you kitted up and then expect you to step off the boat like you see in the films etc. For some reason that really worried me – not least because I hate jumping into the pool! However was actually ok. Going down in the sea was ok, ears equalised all right and then we were at the bottom and I had the surreal feeling that I was swimming in tank full of tropical fish!
Was very nice seeing fish and a spiny urchin (very pleased about that) however was not so blown away that I felt that I needed to go off and do a course etc. We did two sea dives and I am pleased but shan’t be rushing to do it again. Case of been there done that…!

So many firsts – some of them a bit wet but there you go!
- Sorted out my own car tax
- Sorted out my own MOT (today!)
- Got a real christmas tree
- Put a star on the tree instead of an angel
- Got lights on the outside of my house
- Did decorating with someone helping instead of on my own
Good fun!

So drove my boyfriend’s Caterham 7 round the grand prix circuit at Brands Hatch. Very scary and exciting. Went to the briefing where they tell you that they have put guidance signs for when to brack going into the corners etc. Petrified as we go round in that A does not appear to be braking when instructed but carries on accelerating! Did not do my nerves any good to see the signs, so closed my eyes on entry into the corner until I remembered that the instructor said those experienced drivers (him) or with lighter cars(also him) could brake later.
So then had my go and got really cross with myself after first go as was rubbish and hate that! However had two more goes (20 minute timed slots) and got better so at least I wasn’t totally wet! really good fun.
I then went to watch him race at the weekend and fulfill my role as pit crew (also a muddy wet experience – a theme here..)Very enjoyable and exciting to watch him race.

A first for me was to dress up specifically for my partner. And that was not to go out…

So today I took the boys to an activity farm where they also let you hold and pet the animals. So both of my boys were there, one with a chick and one with a rabbit when the woman says she’ll get the cockerel out if I like and they can stroke that. I immediately pointed out that if there was going to be a cockerel in line then I got to hold that! Massive bird that just sat quietly in my arms. I was as pleased as punch.
Love chickens – like the self satified little noises they make as they walk around, almost as if they were giving a minor commentary on life as they see it. Plus their entire puffed up softeness that they have about them.
Would really like to keep chickens…

All wrong – soo wrong it was untrue so I did not order it. However after the obligatory dip of bread into sauce (with permission of course!) it was like tastebud explosion. However did not last as ruined when actually tried pasta. All in all glad I ordered pizza (with egg on top – yum!)

Put an offer in a have proper grown up accepted so they start talking about mortgages and stuff.
