    One step at a time 2 months ago

    I gradutated from The OU in 2000. Although I have not used my BA to help me with my career, I feel it has changed me in the following ways;

    1) It makes you look/read everything with more understanding and in a more complex way. You see different sides to every story.
    2) I made 2 lovely new intelligent friends.
    3) It has helped me with my writing (all different types)
    4) You learn to be more disaplined and to organise your time better.

    It took me 7 years to do my degree. This seems like a long time but I was working full time for most of those years. It can seem a lot to take on but just take it one course, one unit/module of work, one essay at a time and you will get there.

    I did feel very proud of myself when I had my graduation. Looking back, I can’t really believe I did all that studying, all those essays but I did it!

    Good Luck to you if you are planning to study with the OU …

    Maths MST121 1 year ago

    I attempted this course was in 1999 but had to give up a quarter of the way in because of work and life pressures. I vowed I’d start again as soon as I could. This is why in 2007 my evenings are spent doing maths.

    I’m really enjoying it too. Hopefully I’ll manage to get to the end which does seem an awful long way off.

    Wish me luck!!!

    Started with physics & finished with mathematics 1 year ago

    I started my OU studies with the science foundation course. My intention was specialise in physics. In order to lay the groundwork for this I needed to study some mathematics courses. I found that math interested me more AND my grades in it were higher, so I switched & specialised in this instead. I loved everything about being with the OU. I obtained my degree in 1992.

    In addition to my undergraduate study I did the Introduction to Psychology course as an associate student (in those days this was DS262. It’s probably changed now.)

    Summer schools were brilliant. My favourite was Sussex University during my psychology course. The weather was scorching, the people were wonderful & the activities, tutorials & lectures were amazing.
