assist in an archeological dig

for a long time I wanted to be an archeologist, that was until I found out that all they did was point on the map where the next spot to dig is and study a lot! really all I want to do is dig.

at a great summer program in Rome, GA. A Civil War era home was being renovated, but before the grounds could be worked on, they discovered Native American artifacts on site. With a team of archeologists, we went out in dust, rain and mud with our little screens and brushes. Mostly pottery pieces, but definitely worth the experience. And I got the “Golden Digger” award for my work. Not bad for a middle schooler!
