I only check out those sites very occasionally. The bloom has (almost!) officially gone off the rose.

I stopped, then I started again. Even having a little break changed how I looked at it: my first reaction was, “How mean!” It’s all so negative…that’s it, I’m stopping again.

Celebrity gossip either makes you feel a) jealous b) bored or c) deppressed. Who wants to deal with that?

I cut back to just Perez Hilton, and as long as I’m not checking at work, it’s fine! I use it to wind down when I get home, I guess…

Maybe I’ll consider it a lesson in new media for my continued education in Public relations. And maybe that’s a stupid excuse.

Next addiction to cut back on: Suze Orman. Yeah, it’s embarrassing.

did I discover all of the celebrity gossip sites on the internet and that was when my addiction started! I usually visit about two or three different sites multiple times a day whenever I am bored. I then started watching TMZ on television, and I realized how horrible the paparazzi are, what with the way they follow Britney Spears around and the fact that celebrities are now treated like the demi-gods of our world instead of nurses or teachers or parents. What really made me want to do this was hearing about Heath Ledger’s tragic death today. I feel really bad about the intrusion of privacy and how his whole life will be aired out to the public now and how his family’s privacy will probably be invaded. I am just sickened by the level at which we gobble up this information. I want to stop watching TMZ altogether and hopefully stop visiting all celebrity gossip sites.
