Take my wife to the beach more often

We had a wonderful time at the tide pools. We saw a lot of sea cratures including a fairly large crab, a couple of seals, lots of sea urchins, sea stars, hermit crabs, sea anemonies and other things. The weather was beautifully sunny, but it was fairly windy and rather cool. We got there early and we were happy we did. There were only a few people out on the reef when we got there, but when we left there were probably a couple hundred.

There’s going to be a negative tide this weekend on Sunday morning so my wife and I will be heading out to Half Moon Bay to walk out to the tidal areas to see what’s been exposed.

My wife and I walked from Ghirardelli Square to the visitor’s center at Crissy Field on Saturday afternoon and evening. We brought dinner in our Indian thermos container and had a nice meal there as well. The night was really clear and the sights were wonderful. It was dark before we turned back so we saw the Golden Gate bridge lit up in all of it’s glory. It was a very nice walk.

When we were on the beach at Crissy Field there were all sorts of people with all sorts of dogs running them and playing with them on the beach and in the wather. It was a lot of fun to see them with the Golden Gate bridge in the distance.

We went over the hill to Aptos and took a three hour walk on the beach there. It was a wonderful day with lots of sun and pleasant temperatures.

One of my wife’s friends had a bloody Mary party this morning in Santa Cruz. After the party we went down near the boardwalk and took a walk down to the lighthouse at Seabright Beach and then back to the pier. It was a cold, cloudy day but we had a great time. There weren’t many people there and there were lots of gulls and some beautiful pelicans.

I’m going to have to get to the beach with her several more times before considering this goal done.

My wife commented that she’d like to get to the beach (meaning the ocean) more often. At the time I commented that the beaches in Northern California (where we live) aren’t as enjoyable as those in the South (where we were.) However in retrospect, I should have just said we’ll go more often. I want to make sure we actually do this.
