Everyone in this house is overweight. Only one person cares – ME! We eat out too much. I want to stay home and cook healthy meals for myself and the two men in my life.

I managed to do a lot more cooking lately, simply by putting my nose in those recipes i had collected on the net for months and telling me: now you get the ingredients and you cook it! I have used vegetables i had never touched before! I think it’s just about trying a recipe, not expecting it to taste wonderful, if it’s any good you can always improve it the following times… I also got a pressure cooker that helps a lot in cooking vegetables, as i dont have to wait 40 minutes to have well cooked potatoes…
then it’s also about developping some basic recipes that you can accommodate with the vegetables of the season. I find thai food more and more interesting because it is generally light, uses many vegetables and spices, and pretty quick too…
It will be my goal in 2008 to continue cooking the way i do and get more and more knowledge abt cooking thai… advice welcome!
i made buffalo wings…which aren’t exactly healthy, but they are low carb and i’m proud of myself for handling raw chicken
Today I made quinoa tabouleh and it was pretty good! And easy to make too.

well since i want to lose weight i obviously have to cook healthy. and since no one is around to cook for me, i have to do it myself. ( :

my dad comes home very late which means no dinner…and lately my brother has only been given leftovers, macaroni, or canned foods…this is going to motivate me to do this goal even more…
I would love to learn how to cook (period). but cooking healthy i would love more, cuz when me and my husband first got married we would go out to eat A LOT!!! we both gained alot of weight. then after a month or two we got a fridge and he started cooking. (may i say he is a great cook) And our friends and my family would make fun of me for not knowing how to cook. so i guess i just need to learn how to cook, but i thought “while im at it, i’ll get some healthy recipes”.
so if you know some EASY healty recipes let me know and i will try them out and let you know how it goes.
