...I think I’m pretty good at intuitively reading this kind of thing. I seem to know what people are thinking/feeling, even if they try to hide it. BUT… here’s where the goal comes in… I don’t think my body language communicates what I want it to. I don’t think I am giving the proper non-verbal signals to reinforce what I’m really saying. So if I learn about it and become more conscious of what various things mean, then I will be able to control my own messages better. Or at least that’s the idea. I hope it helps me with my career.
body language is the puzzling thing in most human conversations. some people look more sociable and attractive because of successful use of body language. www.ultimatebodylanguage.com
I’ve had my heart broken a few times, talking to people years after nearly dating them. “I never felt like I could touch you,” was the standard line.
I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to say I’m fully satisfied with controlling my own body language. Some day I’d like to be able to sit down at a poker table and know that I could bluff and get away with it.
I try to read about how to read body language and try to control my own, but whenever i’m actually in a social situation I either don’t notice anything and give the signal that i was to be left alone when I want to be talked to, or concentrate so hard on my body language I can’t think of anything to say so the conversation dries up and I feel like i’m being very wierd. I just want to be able to act naturally without giving the wrong signals.
