falling in love… I was just starting to discover music, specifically rap, when I stumbled upon the Blueprint 1. Yes I know this wasnt Jay’s first album, but coming across blueprint 1 made me want to scracth deeper and get to understand this artist. And that I did going all the way back to Reasonable Doubt, all the way through the Vols 1,2,3 and the Dynasty. Ever since then, I’ve bought a Jay-Z album as soon as it was made available to the general public.
Jay-Z’s music to me is not necessarily a “oh, throw it in the club, everyone get there stanky legs out”, No. Jay-Z represents the intelligence in rap. His wordplay is unparalleled by anyone alive. And I just wish I could meet him, so I could pick at his brain a bit because clearly he is very intelligent and has a witty way of saying things…
I was at his concert last night, and that to me was the third greatest accomplishment of 2009 for me!

But couldn’t get things together in time so I passed. THEN I hear he’s on tour with mary and I knwo he’s not one to tour all the time for no good reason but that SAME weekend he’s in Vegas which is also my EXACT birthday, I’ll be in Seattle at a conference :frown:
Sad, but I won’t give up. I had planned to sit outside def Jam a few days on my next NYC trip ( yes, i’m not too proud to stalk ) but now that he’s left i dunno know what to do.. I did hear he lives in tribeca area.. but that’s not really narrowing it down.. i will keep thinking of ways to meet him so I can finally check this off 43things..
Maybe I should start a website…. a la mydatewithdrew.com

I hope when that cat meets me he feels that I look familiar. I’m just real as hell and real recognize real, right? Jay turned me out to rap. I was like 9 or 10 bumping who ya wit, like back to back to back. I’m a girl yo! And was only 9! Why did I like that song of all songs, lil ole’ me, I have no idea. But, I was feeling dude. It was the first song I remember hearing by him. Then, I took it back to Reasonable Doubt and kept it moving to loving every single project except the Dynasty.( The first 6 or 7 songs was straight though) Anyway, the swagger is a seller. I wanted for some reason to be as smooth as him even though I’m a chick! I felt like Memphis Bleek on Coming of Age. I’ll ride with him for free yo! My motto to this day is “you let yo shit bubble quietly and then you blow”! I don’t like him like most females do. I ain’t trying to get with him or nothing like dat but he’s more like a big brother sorda. I’ve been down when everybody wasn’t up on him like they are now. I always saw something in Jay, word up. I rather just hang out and chill. That’s beeter than a intimate realtionship anyway because the relationship stays honest and uneffected. And plus, I just wanna vibe! But for the music, he always get’s me on 10 and when I need to really put on some music to zone out, everything gets better because it’s fun listening to the creativity of his lyrics. I really enjoy it! No matter how many times I’ve heard a song I always pick up on something new each time. Dude is a beast. I hope before either of us leave this Earth that I’m able to atleast meet him and show him some love. That’ll be A dream come true, word up! I know I’m just one of billions of fans but it’s only one him and I do believe I’m one of the ones that will stand out and it’ll be a pleasant experience for the both of us. Thank God for Mr. Carter! One….

I’m a huge fan of the one and only BIG HOMIE’s, his lyrics are the truth and the nigga can’t be touched! Even after his so called retirement he’s droppin hits left and right and these newcomers and vets alike can’t keep up with a hop like that! He is the BEST RAPPER ALIVE and I truly love his music and his whole style. He’s fly as hell and that’s how I like them, thugged out with class and education and doing the damn thing. He came from the gutter and has shot to the top of his industry, has even been named the best rapper of all time by BET, not to mention his millions of devoted fans. I’m not here to say I would or could take him from Beyonce, that is neither here nor there, I just respect his music and his come up, he went from making his own videos to becoming the CEO of Rocafella in LESS than 10 years and that’s something to write about so I had to drop a few lines for my nigga Jigga, what?!
DYNASTY love yo
DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER
I should be his damn spokesperson!!

At a concert here in D.C. in 99 (i think). Anyway, I won front row tickets and was SUPPOSED to have backstages passes as well. Anyway, so I go to pick up the tickets and while they are front row, they tell me that there are no backstage passes – BOOOOO!!!! I was sick!
So me and my girl are in the front row and when he comes on I am just in disbelief. He starts doin his thing, walks across the stage and then I can hardly contain myself becuase he is standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME (granted, up a little bit because he’s on the stage) and I reach for his hand, he grabs it (I’m a bit mesmorized by all the ice on his wrist) and for what seemed like forever (I later found out if was all of 10 seconds), he held my hand as we both spit out the lyrics to some to one of his songs (don’t ask me which one because I honestly cannot remember – I just remember thinking “DAMN, this nicca is holding me hand – AHHHHH!!!!!!) One of the best nights of my life – I am a true fan!
I love Jay-Z to DEATH and while I’m jealous that he’s with Beyonce I’m happy that he’s happy. DAMMIT, why couldn’t he be happy with me though :-)

i could change his life
he is (or at least appears to be LOL) everything i like in a man…tall, attractive, arrogant yet humble, a ‘business…man’, intelligent, funny, street savvy, a closeted nerd, talented, stylish, wealthy and sexy as hell
i interned for island/def jam about 3 years ago and while he was here in chicago like, 4 times while i was interning, i never actually got the chance to meet him…it just never worked out like it was supposed to
i always tell people when i meet him i’m gonna pass smooth the fuck out so they should be prepared to explain to him that he’s gotta give me 2 or 3 minutes to come up outta that dead faint and we can go from there
i hate that beyonce got him first but whatever she did to get him must’ve been right cuz she’s GOT him and i can’t hate too hard on that…however if she fucks it up, i will be more than happy to make it all better
i just hope that when i do meet him (because it’s inevitable) i’m not looking a hot ass mess
