First attempt yesterday. It was kind of an artificial Sunday for us, and we had an egg to spare in the fridge. My boyfriend loved it (he’d never tried it before), but I’m sure I can improve this. I think I soaked the toast for too long, though. I really let the mixture be absorbed by the bread. I have some questions to post:
- Can you use actual french-bread, like baguette bread, for this?
- My mom always added a dash of nutmeg and cinnamon to the mix. Will adding vanilla extract really give it a kick? I don’t want to buy it just for this and realize it’s no difference.
- What’s the best topping that is NOT maple syrup? 5 years ago
