go dancing regularly

Took a friend, a man who’s never danced before in his life. He had a blast, was picking it up way faster than guys normally do, and wnats to go again soon :)

So, I have been planning on going to the dance at the Crystal Ballroom tonight for weeks now… got all ready to go – shower, make up, cute clothes, the works, and then suddenly blew up like a bloated balloon accompanied by the onset of cramps, and realize it’s not going to work :(:(:(

So, we’d docked for the night, and put Cathleen to bed, then turned on some swing tunes over her radio system, and dancing on the concrete slip.. lol. Spins were tricky, but we had a blast, and he never sent me into the river either :) I love D – lol. Also, we started to teach some of his seascouts the basics, which was a blast.

A friend is visiting from out of town. He started swing dancing about two years ago, but has gotten REALLY good! He, my sister and I, went swing dancing for about two hours tonight. He was by far the best lead present. My sister and I got good dances in, but if he hadn’t been there, it would have been sparse pickings indeed. Really fun though :)

My sister and her friend Henry bagged out on me… so I stayed home tonight, playing board games and cooking my family dinner instead.

It was SOOOO great! I paid my six dollars to get in for the evening, and only afterwards found out that there was an upstairs beginning blues lesson included in that initial fee! The class was really good…. i learned SOOOO much about following tonight! Had a blast

So, my sister and I drove all the way accross the city last night to go to a swing dance (even though I was exhausted and achy from a 13 hour day at work), but when we got there, (two hours into the scheduled dance time) there were only three leads! And they wanted ten dollars at the door… even for members/students! so we bagged it, and came back home. Felt like a waste of gas… at least we had a good sisterly talk in the car though :)

Dancing last night :( Just wasn’t feeling up to it. So, my little sis drove off and went without me. Ah well, I had a good time chilling with my mom. I’ll go this weekend :)

I had SOOOO much fun last night at my first swing dance in about 9 months…

I danced, and danced, and danced… with most of the best leads in Portland. And half of them + remembered me well :)

The amazing thing was, that because of my fitness from Crew, my muscles didn’t even feel the hours of fast Lindy etc! Also had fun learning a bit more Bal…

Can’t wait to go out again :)
