AHHHHHH! I am so excited! I went to bed happy last night knowing that Obama had gotten enough delegates. I am hopeful and I am looking forward to the future of the country, something that hasn’t been the case in a long time. This will be the first election I will have voted in. I hadn’t felt really patriotic and optimistic about America in a long time until I first started paying attention to this race. I feel right now about politics and America the way I did when I was a kid and that is an awesome thing.

So on May 6th I woke up early (an unsual feat for me) and headed to the polls with my newly aquired Obama button (given me the day before by a co-worker). I happily cast my vote and went home and went back to bed. But here’s the awesome part. The night before as I set here at my computer researching the candidates at the local level and choosing who would get my vote, I checked my email. And in my email was an invitiation to Reynolds Colliseum to (hopefully) celebrate a victory with Barack and Michelle. So…we went…and it was indeed a victory speech from the next President of the United States. We were so excited by the energy there (we were at a Kerry rally at NC State last go-round and the energy just wasn’t there), there were people from all walks of life there and all ages and races and it was just a special amazing thing.

This man has so much courage. He is the one person I admire the most in this campaign.

Calling all Obama supporters who have eBay accounts : I found this shirt on eBay for $12.95 plus $4 shipping – the seller has 990 of them in stock and the listing continues for another few weeks. The link to that seller is : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180104341235&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=008

It’s a great way for us to support the next President of the United States

I voted on the last day of early voting for the primary here in Tennessee. Now let’s hope I get to vote for him again in the main election!

I mailed in my CA absentee ballot this week with my vote for Barack Obama. Yay! My boyfriend and I are also attending one of the house parties on Sunday afternoon. If you’re interested and live in CA, there’s probably a party near you – you can search for one on this page

Anywhere in the US, you can find an event near you with the event search

This is the first time I’ve felt excited and positive about the political process. I have always cared, but usually I just felt angry and cynical. Because of this, I really hope that I get the opportunity to see Barack in action as our next president.

I can’t wait to see what happens next. This time what happens next might not be another Republican, another war, and more economic woes for the poor and middle class. Obama in 2008!

Go Barack, Go!  — 7 months ago

I’m so stoked that Barack won in Iowa! I bet my boss that he would, making the moment even sweeter. I should be getting my ballot for the California primary any day now, making this goal a reality.
