How I did it: We stayed at a hotel in Salisbury, MD which is about 1 hr 15 minutes from Chincoteague. I would suggest staying in that town because it is far enough away that they don't jack their prices way up and you can easily drive in that morning. Do not stay at the Best Western though, it was terrible. Read how I did it… 3 years ago
