Did a wine tour – went to about 5 different places, got lots of nice wine. Was such a fantastic day!
How I did it: We went to a winery with my sorority, did a taste testing of 6 different wines and then took a tour. It was really interesting listening to the tour guide, but the best part of course was tasting the wines!
Lessons & tips: It is really fun to go in a big group, but it is easy to go with only a few people. Look up where the nearest one is and go!

I cannot believe this has been on my list for over a year and i have not managed to go to a winery… Geez how slack am i?? I love going to wineries! Oh well… at least i am book to go on a full day winery tour at Mt Tamborine!!!! Exciting stuff… will tell you all about it after my weekend away!
Been to quite a few….hope to see more of them….my favorites are the small mom and pop wineries…..where the people giving the tasting actually made the wine, there are so many interesting personalities out there. To speak to the craftsman as you are appreciating their work is an especially interesting and rewarding experience.

Well i wasn’t able to get to the winery as i ended up working so going to have to reshedule. I drove out to my brothers place yesterday (he decide to move 40 mins into the country!!! sheesh) and on the way there are two wineries i haven’t been too (as well as some antique shops) so it sounds like a good day out. Have to round up some friends, anyone coming?

Hmm, maybe i should do this on the weekend coming… i dont think i have anything planned, otherwise it will have to wait til mid june (lots of birthday parties coming up).
i don’t know why, but wines just fascinate me! the way they can be paired with food to make the meal so much better. i’ve never actually had wine(i’m not 21, and yes i will wait until i’m 21) but i think the best place to try it for the first time would be at a winery. i think it would be so fun!
Went to Napa for my honeymoon and visited many, many wineries. VERY COOL! Lots of tastings and food pairings. Highly recommended.
While in Seattle, we took a ferry to Bainbridge Island and visited a local winery. It is owned by a couple with 2 kids and they work out of a two car garage. It may not have been an “elite” winery experience, but he was very knowledgable and made it a fun experience for us. We also left with 5 bottles of wine between the four of us (we said we would buy one and split it before going in!). It was a good time had by all…even though I can’t stand wine. I have to say I enjoyed the Port wine though! It was like dessert.
