Phil [boyfriend] decided we shouldn’t be spending money on water when it’s free from our faucet, so we bought Nalgene bottles and have been using those for the past couple weeks. Points for not only saving money, but also the enviroment. Yay.
How to stop drinking bottled water
How I did it: I bought a reusable water bottle and a britta water pitcher. I only drink water, and I think tap water is gross. The Britta pitcher filters tap water. I keep it in my refrigerator and fill my water bottle up to take with me where ever I go. Now I save money and am good to the environment.

Upside: I have had only one bottle of water within the past 3 weeks
Downside: I am drinking virtually no water during the day (I used to drink an average of 3 bottles during work hours.) Tap water from my home faucet and restaurants taste just fine- but at work something seems fishy. So despite the fact that I bought a fancy-pants aluminum water bottle, I simply don’t like the taste of the tap water at the office. Perhaps I’ll acquire a taste for the cloudy eau… perhaps I am better off bottling the water at home and lugging my fpawb around with me… don’t know. Will try both out and see what works best.
I didn’t exactly use my new aluminum water bottle today (although I did bring it to work.) I spent $15 on this fancy pants bottle and ended up using a glass and drank from the tap instead. I did get a kick out of one of the quotes though – “Do one thing that scares you”
OK. Maybe tomorrow…
I have completely cut out plastic water bottles in the house and just purchased a couple of aluminum water bottles (plastered with great affirmations). I will mark this goal complete if I can get through 28 days without drinking from plastic water bottles.
I am trying to decrease my ecological footprint. I take public transportation to work every day, I bring my own tote bags to the supermarket (most of the time), I recycle.
BUT I also drink bottled water- and lots of it. Mostly during my work day (because they are available to us for free) but also when I go to the gym. I usually opt for tap water at restaurants (if I am not in the mood for sparkling) so I this should be a simple task.

No more bottled water for me… I’ve broken the addiction!

I had a bottle. I was out with E shopping and there was nowhere to fill up my nalgene bottle so I caved and bought one. But other than that… I’m still going without.

So this is day one for no more bottled water. Wish me luck!

So I just realized that there is a water fountain at work. Right by the entrance to the bathroom. Which I pass 10 times a day. I’m going to start filling my Nalgene bottle there instead of drinking bottled.
Still need to work on something for the house…

I’m not making any progress here. But we did talk about pricing a water cooler for the house because our water is horrible. It’s like yellow. So, we’re going to look into that, soon.
