How to learn how to windsurf
It made me
awesome
 How I did it: Sailboards Miami in Biscayne Bay is a great place to learn how to windsurf. They rent good equipment for beginners, it's a beautiful, shallow beach perfect for learning, and the instructors there are terrific (especially Ovidio). On the west coast, Mission Bay near San Diego was a great spot to windsurf, but you'll need to bring your own equipment. The Adventure Sport Center there was very reluctant to rent their windsurfing equipment (b/cit's very old), even though they advertise it on their web site. Watch out for the stingrays, though, once the water warms up in the summer. Lessons & tips: It helps to watch a "how-to" video before going out on the water. Be patient... it took several times out to really get stable on the board. 10-15 mph winds are ideal for learning. |

How I did it: During my summer holidays at the Mediterranean. Windsurfing lessons were for free, so I just went to the beach and asked a teacher to show me. I had like 5 lessons of 2 hours. Afterwards I could keep the balance on the board, I could steer and I could turn. That's all you need to windsurf.At the end of the holiday I was addicted.
