Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

IsabelVision board creativity!

Well, there are online vision board capabilities; good old-fashioned paper vision boards.

Visions floating in mmy mmind will be put down in one version or another.

Mmy ultimmate aimm is to have an easy-to-alter vision wall AND the capability to transfer it, in the event of mmoving – like those portable puzzle mmats!

A business I just joined had a vision board event. I attended and made one. I filled up most of my board but I will continue to add things 5 months ago

littlelamblostA plan is afoot

I’m gathering together the things I need to make my vision and gratitude board/strings sometime in the next few weeks. However As part of my goal to redecorate my bedroom I plan to repaint my room, which is going to cost money that I don’t have right this second.

So now I have to decide if I want to put them up just to take them down again hopefully soon, or if I’m going to wait until I’ve painted my room which could happen six days from now, or six months from now.

I have no idea what to do6 months ago

littlelamblostComing together

I want to create a vision board, and a gratification board, so I have a visual reminder not only of what I’m trying to achieve, but what I already have.

Because I’m currently redesigning my bedroom from white and modern looking to more of a vintage feel I decided to have a bit of fun with the display method and have come up with having a system with twine strung along the wall and miniature pegs clipping images and such on. I’ve already purchased the twine and minute pegs online (Shopping online is so much easier when you work nights) and I’m looking forward to assembling it all. 7 months ago

Should I write a list of short/long term goal first? Is that the way it works? I just went through a magazine and start cutting interesting pieces. Ah! We’ll see. 7 months ago

_lilas_Cutting my images

So, very randomly, I just started this morning to go through magazines and cutting some images. I went to the mall to find a board (poster style) but couldn’t find. It’s ok as I don’t have all my images yet. I don’t really have a image in my head of how I want to do it. I would like to have a better idea before having a look to other people’s vision board.

Well, cutting the first image felt good. It was like taking the goal out of the list. These goals have been sitting there for some time as I haven’t been very active last year. But let’s change that. Today is the first day of the rest of my amazing journey. (: 7 months ago

thegrayareaplugging away

Have collected & cut out all my images. It is a nice way to pass the time waiting for other things. Now to make a background. I want to use watercolor, but I’m probably making it more complicated than it needs to be. Story of my life. 8 months ago

thegrayareaHopefully I won't include a depiction of myself holding a severed human head.

I’m not making any promises though. 10 months ago
