I own so many books! 1 week ago

Apart from owning almost every Stephen King novel written, I own other genre novels that I have not read at all. So the goal is to read these! It’s neat because it’ll be great number counts for my other goal to read 1,000 books in less than ten years! :)

    To reading I go!

P.S. 43 things needs to find a way to have an undo option when you accidentally click that you’ve completed something.

I want to add to this goal . . . I don’t want to just read every book I own, but I want to get the most out of it that I can. I sometimes can read an entire page and have to keep re-reading it over and over. I really enjoy reading when I can focus and get what their saying, but I hate when I keep getting distracted and do what I call “zombie” reading (reading the words but not hearing or getting it at all).

So as I’m reading all the books I own, I want to take notes, give myself “assignments”, reflect on what I’ve read, etc.

new approach to this 3 weeks ago

Okay, I think it’s due to distractions, I can’t read in my living room, as there’s the laptop and the xbox. My new approach is to firstly seperate my bookshelf into read and un-read, then read while sitting on my bed with some light music on the ipod in the background. I’ll attempt to do this for at least one hour every day for the next month and see how I go. I think by the time I plough through the first few books, I’ll be able to see myself finishing the task. I’m also not buying any new books till I’ve done this.

    Making progress! 1 month ago

It is slow, but steady . . . I read almost everyday during my lunch break. My favorite types of books are motivating, self-help, daily devotional, etc. Since I’ve started reading these uplifting books almost daily I can really tell a positive difference in my attitude and outlook.

Now I just need to add a little more reading time to my week (like before bed, weekends).
