reflect on things for which I'm grateful

My absence from here has been long, so long that when I return I feel a bit like a voyeur, someone peeking through a window at a family underway. But on this national day of Thanksgiving, I feel I must return here, to my base, my loved ones, my gratitudes. I am thankful for so much, far too much to mention, so in the 5 grat tradition:

*the waft of cinnamon and nutmeg
*expanding knowledge
*his wonder in the night sky
*that she still loves to cuddle
*the authentic ache of missing

And of course, you, I am thankful for you.

*Hot chocolate on a cold day
*My parents and all they do for me
*My coworkers (99% of them are pretty awesome)
*Vacations

-Friends (which I may have taken for granted a bit)
-My awesome boyfriend
-Everyone who believes in me
-Boomer and Roxy
-The person who inspired/motivated me to start my own business
-Chocolate
-Salt (yes, I’m a salt fiend)
-My metabolism
-Drive-in movies
-The beach
-The mountains

Thank God

For my potential to be great and his patience with me.

For my job.

For pool, and the pool table we’ll be getting soon (I’m SOOO excited).

For his peace that surpasses all understanding.

For my quirky friends.

I have a roof up above me, and a good place to sleep. Food on the table and shoes on my feet (in-other-words the simple things oft taken for granted)

It’s been far too long. Five for Friday, August 7:

1. Early morning gooseflesh.
2. A sip of time and quiet, just enough to remember the taste.
3. Sadness, on the road to actuation.
4. Terrazu, black and steaming.
5. Commitment (SW3307).

what goes around, comes around, one way or another

• the wonderful DB, who is booking rooms for me and who had a wonderful suggestion in addition to the request I made
• Amazon for delivering S’s present
• CK for a parcel-full of gorgeous things
• M for taking me out to lunch…..mmmmm
• DH for love and support

• being able to spend an extra night in the country
• some days of peace and solitude
• restoring harmony with J after, who knows what was going on?
• having more people on-side than off-side
• wonderful evening clouds

...on the hill and trees beside us, lighting them up as if from within, as the sun sinks across the valley – especially beautiful after today’s torrential rain.

• The help offered me by the webmaster yesterday, and the tutorial etc she is offering me next week
• That I only bought the Idiots Guide to Dreamweaver from Amazon (I won’t be using Dreamweaver – the place I work uses something much more up to date now), instead of the O’Reilly, which would have been much more expensive
• Wifi in the middle of the countryside
• Being surrounded by silence, apart from birdsong
• An unexpected day off
