I think this is because the beans had been soaked for much longer and were softer.

Kidney beans just fell apart when I tried to grill them.

Soaking the beans in a mixture of wine-vineggar and water seems to help deepen the flavour considerably.

A very successful bean stew made using Pinto Beansin a tomato sauce.

This goal has proven very worthwhile: cheap and healthy food for the wholle week.

The only thing is that you have to soak the beans, but really that’s not much trouble.

I found that soaking the kidney beans in a little wine vinegar as well as water is good for flavour.
