everywhere employers want people who can be bilingual .. i have a thing for hispanic men lol but the real reason i wanna learn spanish because its the second most demanding language in new york city …
How to learn Basic Spanish
How I did it: I took Spanish I my sophomore year and Spanish II my Junior year. I really like the language but don't use it everyday so I've lost a lot of it. I want to try to maybe re-learn it again with a friend so that I'll have somebody to talk to.
Lessons & tips: Keep using it, even when you don't need to. I try to think in Spanish as much as I can but I really need to get back into it. There are still times where I actually think "que hora es?" instead of "what time is it?"I use terms as often as possible. I tried counting in Spanish during my Algebra courses, but that didn't work out as well, lol.

I’m listening to podcasts daily and trying to glance the bilingual papers once a week to pick up key words.
I may not be comfortable speaking it but at least I’m not completely in the dark when I pass a conversation.
Now I just need to have the confidence to say a few sentences.

I’ve taken Spanish classes for over five years & it has proven to be worth it because so many people speak it where I live. Now that I know what it sounds like I can pick it out in a crowd more easily & have gotten better at my pronunciation just by listening. I’m getting better at grammar though I occasionally miss an accent mark or put a verb in the wrong tense. I’m better at reading/writing Spanish but I’m able to speak it about half as fast as a native as I may have to think about what I’m really saying sometimes.
