I used to go berry picking as a kid with my family out in the country side.

We like to take these Sunday drives. During one such drive, in search of Tiger Ridge (see my goal concerning this on 43 places), we stopped at a farm to pick blueberries.
ardilla actually graduated this fall!
When I was growing up, raspberry bushes grew wild along farm fences. Every time we went to the countryside—which my father did very frequently for us, we would stop and eat raspberries until we were sick of them.
We also had a patch of strawberries and another of blackberries in our house in the countryside growing up. Picking blackberries requires small hands and a lot of dexterity, not to mention hand-to-eye coordination. The small thorns on this plant can be quite ferocious for a 5 year-old. We would wash the berries before eating them in this faucet that had the coldest water I can remember.
This is a treasured memory…
