Let’s just say that its worth doing if you’re there, but is strangely underwhelming. Athens is also really smoggy. If you look down on the city from the Acropolis, you can see how polluted it really is.

A more impressive experience is visiting the old Roman city of Ephesus on the Turkish coast. The ruins are incredibly well preserved (the library facade is gorgeous!) and Turkey is a beautiful country. Near Ephesus there are also several ancient sites of importance to the early Christians as well. 7 years ago
