i love teaching myself to play…but the strings are hurting the tips of my fingers :(
my friends say i’ll get use to it…but it hurts and then I can’t play too long on it….i like the piano better lol

It’s great, I’m figuring this “teaching guitar self” out.
I finally tuned the damn thing by sitting besides the piano
and doing it the old fashion way which seemed a lot easier than
youtubing it. It took less time tuning it with the piano the second
time around. The other day when I was using the net to help me grasp
how to do it, I was ready to hide that new guitar and give it
a resting spot under my bed after an hour of endless, unguided noise. out of sight, out of mind. lol
But I’m happy that I didn’t give up and gave it another shot.
Now, step two- playing the instrument

i haven’t even learned how to tune the damn thing…
i’m staring at it and have no clue what i’m suppose to press,
what’s a fret? which i googled just to jog my memory…just kidding….not really…i googled basic guitar instructions which made it seem more complicated…open string, closed string…wha??
i learnt a tiny bit of it when i was younger but not enough to say
“yeah i use to play” argh…now i’m just gonna go and have a nice glass of wine…listen to some music…have a cigarrette and enjoy the nice weather.

In 3 easy steps-
1. Learn how to play the following chords: G major, D major, C major and A minor (4 of the simplest chords in the known universe).
2. Find the tab for Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”.
3. Practise till your fingers bleed (figuratively) until you get it just right (use your own judgement by ear).
