I picked up a translation at an airport bookstore, and found it very interesting during the ensuing flight. Of course, upon getting home, I put it on a shelf and haven’t completed it (there’s that ADD again). I intend to pull it off the shelf and finish it … just as soon as I’m done reading the Iliad.

A little dry at times, but it was interesting. Tied together a lot of bits and pieces of ancient history that I’d learned along the way through school.
A better read than most novels and potentially more factual. I was more wrapped up in the cultural details about the Egyptians and the Scythians than the narrative arc, although I did enjoy the failed crossing of the Hellespont. I’ve returned to this work several times, reading specific parts, but I’ve never re-read the whole work.
