shemyaisland is so happy BO is the new president!
As the television shows suck, this is easier than I previously thought. I can get my news from the Internet. It’s all brain washing material anyway.
How I did it: I started reading the Twilight series. Enough said.
I moved the cable so that it only plays in my daughter's room and I was not tempted to channel surf hoping for a decent show that did not include women or men degrading each other or complete strangers sharing the most intimate parts of lives with millions of viewers. Feeling pity and disgust for these people helped find other ways to fill my time. My daughter is addicted to Cartoon Network and Nick. Who am I to deny her the pleasure?
Lessons & tips: Buy DVDs you enjoy. Having control over your viewing is much more pleasurable than waiting for the TV people to out something worthy on the tube.
Resources: internet, DVDs, and books

I am considering giving up TV altogether as everything on sucks like a plunger.
I actually stopped not watching TV a while ago. I’d hit the month mark and it was a slow weekend. I didn’t really feel the need to not watch for two more weeks (finish up Lent). But it was still worth doing. Didn’t miss anything by not watching it, though my friends now have to describe any movie they want me to see because I have never seen the previews, it’s funny.
So, after tonight I will not have watched TV for a month. I didn’t count movies, because one day I just needed to watch a movie and not do anything, but it’s my rules so I think that’s fine. So… YEY!
But now the question is, do I want to wait until Easter and just say I gave up TV for lent?
Wow, I’m almost done. I don’t know when I’ll start watching TV again, but it’s only like seven more day. I’m actually really tired of not watching TV. It’s just something to do. My mind is tired of thinking up new and exciting things for me to do. But Hey, I’m def. not giving up. I’ll tell you all how it ends up.
Actually I’m on day 17. So far I haven’t watched TV, very proud of myself. I’m not any more productive, but oh well. That was not the point of this. I sleep more to fend off boredom, sometimes I just end up napping. But I’m past the halfway point. Now only to decide when I’m stopping. Haha, I still haven’t told my parents yet, I don’t think they really know.
I find I’m much more productive when I’m not wasting time online. All in all I think I procrastinate less without TV watching. Sometimes I do wish for brainless activity, but I usually just play some stupid game then.
Wish me luck for the next three weeks!

I want to go an entire month without tv. No news, no sports, no crap. Any tips for getting it done?
