illustrate children's books

I’m working on an independent book by Henry Harrison called ‘The Unusual Quest of Frank Logan Beaver’. Henry loves my guinea pig illustrations and I’m honoured to be asked. At the moment I’m researching and really getting into the mind of Frank . . .

doesn’t that sound like the most fun job ever!

This is actually my partner’s goal… she’s an awesome illustrator who’s already completed her first children’s book… but I was just curious how many others here had this same goal.

I’m an illustrator, but too chicken to see if I can make it in the “real world” of illustrating children’s books. I am going to focus on my portfolio, and getting my work seen by publishers and authors! I know I am talented, and I can draw…but, I don’t have the confidence to really push the envelope.

Another idea long-ago conceived…
Mid-2004 I illustrated a short and simple book written by my friend. It has not been picked up by any publishers, but I’d still like to try and break into the industry… earn a little cash with artwork… Besides, our effort wasn’t enough to get attention.
I still feel like I need to prove myself in this area…
Plus, it could be some fun…
