I’m growing some trees (from seed) in plain soil to get them gain thickness. It’s much more fun when they’re in a pot so I can’t wait untill they are out of the plain soil again. I guess it’ll take another year though. They are now 3 years far. Patience…

I am a big advocate of feng shui. Today, as we are looking through a book we bought on how to re feng shui our apartment, one of bad things to do is to get a bonsai tree. SHUT UP, I know right?! Apparently it brings in the bad chi energy for stunted growth and prosperity. All bonsai trees are recommended to be grown outside. THAT cannot happen until we get a house.
So, good bye to this goal, at least until the day we get a house or green house separate from the main house.

I really want to keep it alive and see if it can grow over the years!

I did my taxes today and I am using $50 of it to get a bonsai tree. I will look locally but I will also look online and see if I can get a japanese maple. Those are the ones I like best. They are bright flmaing red in spring, but turn a more subtle lighter pale pink and green in the fall. It calms me just thinking about it. School starts Monday and I’m so nervous and stressed, I should probably order 8.

I can’t remember if my love of bonsai trees pre-dates the Karate Kid. If it doesn’t, that’s kind of lame and sad all at the same time. But, I just always remember loving them and always wanting one. I know the ones that are around here run into the hundreds of dollars probably because it’s cold and well…we’re not the brightest bulbs in the package here. If we want it, we will pay whatever. Like right now, we have the highest gas prices in the country. Even higher than Alaska and California.
So, I will look into growing one and see if I can manage it.
I just know that I have always wanted one. And now that I am a grown up, I can get one. The pony will have to come later. (Which by the way my mother said if she would have known at 34 I would still be bitching about a pony, she would have gotten it). I feel so justified.
