Punky_S finally has the internet, and can dwell on her 43 things again.
The offical ‘Traveler’s Century Club’ list of countries is strange, although I can see why they might include island’s etc as separate. But I feel like a bit of a cheat because I’m from the UK and they include England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Island, and the Channel Islands as different countries! They also allow stop-overs which adds on Germany and Japan although I don’t feel like I really experienced those countries. I suppose it helps you get the numbers up though – so here goes so far…
Pacific Ocean:
1 – Australia (Sydney, Newcastle, Forster, Port Macquarie, Bellingen, Byron Bay, Brisbane, Noosa, Fraser Island, Bundaberg, Airlie Beach, Whitsunday Islands, Townsville, Magnetic Island, Mission Beach, Cairns, Melbourne, Adelaide, Alice Springs, Uluru, King’s Canyon)
North America:
2 – Canada (Niagara Falls, Toronto)
3 – United States (New York, Philadelphia, Asheville, Nashville, Orlando, Miami, New Orleans, Austin, Fort Worth, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Los Angeles, San Diego, Memphis, Washington DC)
Europe and Mediterranean:
4 – Balaeric Islands (Minorca)
5 – England (Lots)
6 – France (Clisson, Paris)
7 – Germany (Stop-Over Munich)
8 – Greece (Corfu)
9 – Italy (Rome, Florence, Sorrento, Naples, Capri, Pisa)
10 – Jersey (Channel Island)
11 – Netherlands (Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam, Delft)
12 – Northern Island (Belfast)
13 – Scotland (Lots)
14 – Spain (Camarinas, La Coruna, Santiago de Compostela)
15 – Vatican City
16 – Wales (Pwhelli, Conwy, Snowdonia, Cardiff)
Middle East:
17 – Israel (Tel Aviv, Eilat, Jerusalem)
18 – Jordan (Aqaba, Petra, Wadi Rum)
Asia:
19 – Japan (Stop-Over Kyoto)
Nineteen so far. Not bad. I could have visited a few more, but I really prefer to experience everything a country has to offer so sometimes I have chosen that over say, popping one foot into Mexico, or Egypt etc.
