During the time that I am alone, I can plan my live ideally, without having to take anyone else into account. So, when I walk regularly, then I can add the gym.

How I did it: I started in january of 09, with the goal of building muscle and losing weight, and over all feeling better. I got a Weight bench, started with a total of 100 reps in 5 exersises, full body workout everyother day. I increased weight and reps every month, added push ups and situps to the warmup and cool down. By june i was at almost 300 reps every other day and an hour of bike riding on the off days. How I did it: the biggest, and dare i say the only, struggle i faced working on this goal was motivation. which is why finding a workout partner was key. my partner holds me accountable, im a complete ass if i bail on them. soon into our sessions, we both began to develop our "zones" so now motivation is not a struggle at all, but an abundant blessing... i cant wait to workout! in fact ill be doing so today. =0) Read how I did it…
How I did it: I started late last year to do a full-body workout 6 days a week, all at home and on my own. I had little information about anything and just started doing all exercises I could do with my body and dumbbells that I remembered from when I went to gym (not too often) earlier last year and some years before. Then, about 3 months ago, I got to researching how to really workout on my own, I settled initially for an A/B workout. Two months lat… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Everyday I'd set aside some time. I started slowly at first, but then started to gain some momentum and started doing up to an hour a day. I started working out before work, then walking to work, walking home and doing some yoga when I got home. After I moved to a new place, I started doing an hour on the treadmill. Recently I just got the new EA Sports Active game and it is kicking my butt. I love it. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I found a exercise partner, making a commitment with someone else to go to the gym forced me to go even in those days when I didn't feel like going. After a while , it didn't take a big effort to go, it just became routine. Another thing that helped was that I found some classes offered at the gym that are are pretty fun, and target the areas I want to improve. Exercising should not feel like torture, finding exercise activities that a… Read how I did it…

I did a bit with Therabands today, before I ran out of energy. Anemia does that to a person.
OK, I’ve definitely fallen behind on this one. I got my fitness DVD last week and only did it once. And in fact, I only made it halfway through. So, tomorrow, I’m going to do it at 5pm and try to do the most tiring parts last so I can make it further through the whole workout. And then I’m going to try and incorporate it into my schedule and do it at 5pm twice a week. Which means I have to make sure not to eat after 3pm!
Su: 30 min walking the dog, 1 hr painting ceilings
M: 10 min treading water, 10 min swimming laps
Tu: 20 min walking the dog

I was too tired. I had something going on every night and friday morning just could not get in there….
but I went tonight and did extra. I’m going every free night this week and am going to consider prepaying for the next six months starting this next month to save a few bucks.
atinygoat would rather be at the beach.
I’ve worked out twice this week. That doesn’t seem like enough.
Three times a week sounds better.. let’s make that at least three times a week.
I will exercise at least three times a week for the next two months, and then I can consider this goal achieved.
Time to update this goal!
Unfortunately, the walking only lasted a short while – two or three months maybe – before the lady began canceling more regularly and even forgot about me twice. It wasn’t going to work out.
I recently signed up for an aquajogging class and am happy about that. Taking an exercise class in water has interested me for a long time. I liked that water creates good resistance and works the body while also being gentle on the muscles. I thought it would be a good way to tone and good for cardio. I have finally tried it! I had one class so far. On that particular day, I wasn’t feeling my best physically. My body felt tense, weak, and achy most of the day and I hoped I wouldn’t feel worse afterwards. I was also a little bit nervous because I hadn’t taken a group class in a while and didn’t quite know what to expect in terms of the experience and the people. A few things felt a little bit strange at first, but it was alright in the end and I definitely felt it gave me a good workout. There was a clock and it felt like every minute was productive exercise-wise. After ten minutes I wondered how this could go on for an hour!
The first half-hour was more cardio-based, and thank goodness for the water because I probably wouldn’t have lasted as long as I did. The support from the water definitely helped. The thing about being in the water is that you could either be exerting yourself more than you’re used to without realizing it but you could also not be pushing as hard because of it. I tried to really fulfill the moves and could feel my heart pounding and I couldn’t tell if I was overdoing it or just getting a good workout. At one point, I could feel my face flushed and the way it would feel if I was sweating but of course, because of the water, it wasn’t easy to sweat! I was curious to know what kind of exercises we would do and overall, I liked the variety offered and could feel that they were working different parts. The second half of the class revolved a little bit more around strength training. We used a little ball and a noodle and ended the class with a bit of stretching. I felt refreshed afterwards.
So for almost two months, I will have a cardio workout once a week, which is great.
I am still finding it hard to keep up with this goal and to know when I can really consider it accomplished. I think it’s important to find exercises I enjoy, and I’m trying. I also think it’s important to be attentive to the way a particular exercise makes us feel afterwards, and after my class, I felt good.
I just wonder why some people are naturally motivated when it comes to exercise while for others, it doesn’t come as easily.

I am currently overweight, and in order to lose that, and stay healthy I need to excercise. However, most of what I do involves being in front of a computer, and I no longer have a car, so this can be difficult.
“Exercising regularly” is going pretty well. Joining a gym has helped.. Now i just need to find a tennis buddy
