I had it for a bit and then car payments rolled back around. I WILL save this money and KEEP it there.

How I did it: I used a budget to pay down some bills, once those were paid, I just took what I was paying toward those and put that money into savings. Since I had been putting the money toward a bill before I shouldn't have "needed" it for anything else. If I had not made it a priority that money would just have been spent without even noticing. How I did it: I started putting away absolutely everything I could, quit eating out, moved back in with my parents, used my car minimally, didn't rent videos, etc... basically I only bought the essentials for about 3 months and at times even managed to put whole paychecks into savings. How I did it: Usually I saved up half the amount and then go on a splurging frenzy. I got a lot of gift cash on my birthday and it helped towards my goal. Next goal.. "save $2000". Read how I did it…
How I did it: I love to travel, but I think doing a little less traveling is what pushed me over the top on this goal. Now that I've got some money saved, I'm going to travel more regularly this fall, I think. Read how I did it…

Starting slow… hehe, $50 I’ve found in my pocket goes to savings. Better that than nothing, right? I need to develop a habit of rat packing little bits and pieces here and there.
I’m also negotiating a raise with my boss, hopefully it will happen soon – that would definitely allow me to save more, and I know I will need savings soon. We are also thinking of finding a little cheaper place to live in, possibly a little further from the water (the view is great, but with every storm my yard is close to flooded) – those savings on rent would translate into savings as well. We’ll see. Or maybe finding a place same price as ours with utilities included? I gotta look around – moving is not easy when you have a pit bull, and the place needs to have a big yard for him too… I need to start sending the right signals to the Universe in order for all that to happen right about now, lol.
I gotta go to work, I’m not liking this night shift thing, but it may bring more monies, so I’ll do my best… haaarrrddd to do though :)

Phase one; collect underpants.
Phase two; ...
Phase three; Profit!
But seriously, I’ve cut into my budget to help realize this.
I have already saved $1000, but I wanted to get myself a cushion. So, I’m targeting $2000. I’m currently $716.27 away from achieving that end.

And then some, I currently have $1700 in my savings account. The problem is that that’s financial aid money from school, and I’m supposed to be living off of it for the next 3 months and pay for a $700 dentist bill in a couple weeks.. So I’m not going to count this as complete yet. But maybe if I live like I have no money still, I can hang onto some of that.
I will use the simply save program with TD Canada Trust. $2.50 will be put into savings for every transaction I run through, also I will add extra money I make through tips to my savings.

I used to have a pretty good amount saved, but that went all to heck so I have to start over again. If only I could put away that 40 every two weeks I’d have this done in a year. When I get paid this friday I will put 20 in my other checking acct and not touch it.
