Research will have to be the starting point. I have a family member with special needs, so that will require extra planning that feels a bit uncharted, but certainly someone else has dealt with this.
The things I’ve done so far have been in the form of purchasing life insurance, asking non-family to accept my dependent family in the event I’m not around. I’m trying to save money. I’ve got a case of water and a few cans of beans. I’ve filled extra gas cans. That’s about it.

Obviously having extra water in bottles doesn’t help. Hence different plans for different emergencies. I ask myself what are the things I cannot replace; and I started from there.
1. Meet up place
2. Family photos duplicated and given out.
3. Documents copied and safely stored away from the house

Reviewed a few plans and am taking some of the ideas that would benefit me. Doesn’t hurt to be prepared. Got a bit of a head start because I already have a good supply of camping equipment. Need to inventory what I already own though.
