Ever mindfulBedroom clutter

I had a ridiculous mess on top of my dresser, so I began there. I threw away old makeup, lotions, miscellaneous junk. I wiped everything done and began to cull through my clothes. The result is a clean and organized dresser top. My nightstand is also clean. It is a good start. I wanted to continue but had other more pressing matters. On My next day off I will continue my cleaning. I began to fight back against the mess. I am not going to let it win! 2 months ago

Ever mindfulMy house is a disaster

I am off today, so I am going to start by cleaning the unfinished room. This room is sort of a catch-all at the moment and filled with clutter. I will feel better if it is more orderly. I also need to finally put away the Christmas decorations! 3 months ago

Ever mindfulSo many things, too many things

That’s what I have. I feel guilty having so much excess. I have spent several hours over the last two days just clearing out clothes I never wear and things I don’t need. I have 2 shopping bags and half a box filled, yet I am nowhere near done. This project will continue this weekend, as I have to work 12 hours the next two days.I am going to donate what I have gleaned so far to a second hand store which donates to various charities. I admire the young woman who owns it. She keeps a small salary for herself and gives away the rest. What a wonderful business concept. 16 months ago

Ever mindfulsmall changes

Today I bought a curtain and rod for my bathroom. There is currently painted shutters in place that I have a hard time keeping clean. I’m sick of looking at them. They are coming down on my next day off. I was thinking about a fresh coat of paint in there also. I plan to redo this room entirely but don’t have the money. I decided that even a little change will increase my satisfaction.

I also got a 4 drawer organizer for my front entry. It is smaller than I thought it would be, but I guess it will work to contain some of the clutter that accumulates. I am focusing this month on clearing things out and making a peaceful, homey environment. 16 months ago

Ever mindfulWow!

Much has changed since I have written about this topic. We bought our house last year. That was a huge step after renting for years. There are so many things I would like to do around here – limited by time and money….always.

I have a halfway done sitting room. I love the new sky blue walls. Now we need to install the wood flooring and lighting which are sitting in my garage! I envision this room as my refuge, with built-in bookcases and a chaise longue by the window. I also want lots of plants and a place to roll out my yoga mat. 16 months ago
