learn how to use a tampon

I tried several times as a teen, but I wasn’t able to jam the damn thing in properly.

I finally got one in for the first time when I was at camp. I got my period, and only tampons were available out in our remote end of camp. I got coaching from my entire teepee from the other side of the toilet stall door.

My recommendation for first-timers is to use an OB or similar brand without an “applicator”. Applicators are OK, but they exist mainly because some women freak out about touching themselves “down there”. If you don’t have an applicator, you can tell better what’s really going on. The other recommendation is to use KY or similar “personal” lubricant. 4 years ago
