How to swim with great white sharks
It made me 
"Go to Cape Town, SA as you're guaranteed to see them there and the price is low. Don't expect great clarity in the water though. I want to do it again though."
How I did it: Plenty of Adventure tours in Cape Town area. We signed up and took a bus trip out east of Cape Town. Takes about 2 hours to get there. Hop in a boat. Drive out and enjoy.
Lessons & tips: Find a place that limits numbers on the boat. Try to get a place that hooks you up to air tanks so you can stay down longer.

Preferably without a cage, it is possible – obviously, with someone who kmows what they are doing – I should be diving with Hammerheads and Bull sharks this year – but a great white would be incomparably different

When I first encountered a big sea creature it was a bunch of dolphins in cuba. I jumped into the water and they swam around me, played with me and were just generally cute. If I did the same with a great white shark, Im sure Id be dead or limbless now.
SO. If I save enough money, hmm, $2000 or so, I can actually pay to get in a cage and get dropped into great white shark infested waters! cheap thrills or what?! not quite.
