    Yesterday 14 months ago

Pulled a sack of weeds out of the front garden
Weedkillered the front garden, back patio and pathway
    Mowed the lawn

Planted out the beans and repotted some broccoli plants 18 months ago

We spent hours and hours at the weekend building a raised bed – had to dig out the current bed down to about three feet deep first and then add edging. Then we filled it in with lots of soil and compost and stuff.

Yesterday I planted some climbing beans in the bed, and two troughs of dwarf beans. I also repotted some of the sprouting broccoli seedlings into larger pots.

I still need to transplant more of the chilli plants, and some of the peppers.

It’s so exciting to see things grow and start to florish, and all from seed this year so far.

Planted some bedding plants 19 months ago

in the front wall, and also in pots in the porch. We have also grown beans and peppers and lettuces from seed so they will need planting out very soon.

While the sun was out this weekend... 21 months ago

...we trimmed the rose and the lilac and did a bit of weeding.

Mowing again :-) Plus I strimmed the edges this time and we had the trees thinned out to let a lot more light in. It’s looking good!

This week I planted the pepper and chilli plants into larger pots, mowed the grass and tidied up the leaves. It all looks a lot better now. Oh, and we cut the front hedge too.

    Just remember 2 years ago

that they may seem like they’re spaced out enough when they’re little, but tomatoes grow like weeds!
I have three tomato plants and three small dwarf basil plants in a window box, and they’re getting way too big for the pots.

Problem is, they’re blooming and I don’t want to transplant them and kill the flowers/fruit.

So, just remember spacing if you’re planning on planting a garden.

A raised vegetable bed 2 years ago

This weekend we built a raised vegetable bed as we are fed up with the snails and stuff eating all our veggies. This weekend we need to plant it with seeds and plants and then make a real effort in keeping it clear of pests. It looks good and is far larger an area than we’ve had before to plant things in. Lets hope it’s a success.

We also weed killered the front garden so hopefully things will start to clear there and we can clear all the weeds out soon.

    This weekend 2 years ago

we raked all the moss out of the lawn and weeded it. We also planted some pots for the font porch with pansies. They look nice and colourful. We cut the side hedge which badly needed it. Our garden is looking good so far.

    Last weekend 2 years ago

We planted tomato plants, lettuces and rocket in pots. We also planted some flowers in the wall and a new clematis next to the one we bought a few years ago. The garden is begging to get some colour back. I need to mow the grass soon, and the hedge could do with a trim too.
