Run the Maui Marathon

I did not realize that so much preparation goes into doing one of these. As a beginner, I need all 8 months to prepare for this. Will start running a routine this week.

I have never run more than 5 miles in my life but feel that I need to show myself I can do it. There is no better place to attempt this than Maui in my humble opinion. The beauty and the magical way of life can transform anyone. I hope to be ready by the September 2008 Start.

I’ve been saying I want to run a marathon- any marathon for a thousand years. But, I seem not to be inspired enough to do it. Now that I’ve added run the MAUI marathon, all the sudden it seems real. I’ve never been to Hawaii, and am not the type to want to stay in a fancy hotel and lounge on the beach sipping fancy drinks. Nope, I want adventure, and a goal like running a marathon in Hawaii – well, that’s my kind of vacation. I’ll save the lounging for after the marathon, and to rest up for all the surfing I’ll want to do, too.
