Stormygirl getting stuff done!

Untitled 7 months ago

Yes – this is definitely something I would like to achieve in the next 5 years. I think that I’d like to complete this in Koh Tao.

Only have one question…I get narcosis at about 28m, which although very funny for me is extremely dangerous and I wouldn’t go below around 26m to ensure that I and fellow divers remain safe – will that prohibit me from achieving this goal? I dearly hope not…

I’ve passed the physics test and I’m on to physiology. I still haven’t done any diving for the class, but hopefully by next week. I can’t wait to get back in the water after 2 years. Hopefully I’ll remember how to dive.

A few things left 18 months ago

I have interned for an entire Open Water Class including the certification weekend, gave a lesson, and have helped a Discover Scuba class.

I’m not sure exactly what I have left, but my pool sessions are done for my class.

Become a Dive Master 19 months ago

I love scuba diving so much and we are moving to the Keys next month. It just makes sense. The relaxation and exhiliration experienced simultaniously while engaged in this sport is incomparable. I would really like to teach others to scuba dive while becoming more aware of marine life beyond the dinner table and watch their joy and excitement grow as they discover the incredible underwater world.

It’s not so bad so far, but some of the stamina swims might be challenging.

going ofr it and beyond

last month passed my rescue and EFR. by the end of oktober 2006 i will hopefully be a PADI divemaster.

then (if i can still afford it..) I will start my IDC to become an instructor.

Almost finished 3 years ago

I’m almost finished my PADI Divemaster training. It’s everything I thought it could be and more. I would thoroughly recommend the training to anyone who enjoys SCUBA and already has some experience (75-100 dives is a good minimum I think), and especially if you love helping other people get into diving.

What pushes my buttons is helping others. I get a real thrill out of taking the time to help someone through an Open Water course or lead them on a dive they’re a bit nervous about and seeing them come out the other side with a huge smile on their face and knowing that I played a significant role in them staying in diving and having a great time.

I’m in training in Wellington, New Zealand – an excellent cold-water place to dive, right off the shore!

Divemaster is totally for you to become a better diver 4 years ago

I think this is a great goal!

As long as you are comfortable in the water - go for it. I have met a lot of people throughout the world through diving. The class is actually the first "class" in PADI that I thought was like a "real" class. I mean to say that there is alot to learn, a lot of "base" knowledge to learn about on your way to your IDC class.
One of the best times for me - lobster diving as a DM in SoCal. I mean we had people on Oxygen after every daive because they blew through their limits, we had rescues, assists, all kinds of event's.

Let me know if you have any questions – I’ve been certified for about 5 years now..as a DM… 20 years diving.

Oct 25th in Thailand! 4 years ago

Assuming everything goes to plan I’ll be starting my divemaster training in Thailand on Oct 25th with Mermaid’s Scuba Centre (aka PJ Scuba or learn-in-asia). Has anyone completed this program before? Anything I should know?
I’m so excited!
