Never Ending Story with Pictures 2 years ago

your guide through Fogland

Once there was, and twice there wasn’t… And the story has begun, this quote you’ll never forget even if you try. The first time I heard this… did I just say heard? As if merely hearing words would transform and shake the very foundation of who you are.

A young man who was left handed but very gifted in other ways,

there was also a pet frog. A pet frog that climbed up the stairs, and a beautiful young lady who couldn’t help but stare. :P

She looked up the staircase, daring herself to climb (women of her type did not climb these sorts of stairs, after all!) and yet stalling as she remembered the promise made to her so many years ago…

Slowly, yet cautiously she made her way up the stairs, before she reached the top, the frog had slipped through a crack in the door.
No, no….{gasp, hand covers her mouth}
Standing before the door she stops cold and thinks to herself {should I open the door. I must see where he’s gone.}
Reaching out her shaking hand for the door knob, she knows that once she turns it, all things change.

“It’s beginning to feel like Alice in Wonderland around here.”, she thought to herself.

So, turned the knob and opened the door.

The door moved open silently. Her eyes widened as she looked upon the lush and green world on the other side of the door. There were strange things in this other-world. She thought about closing the door and then opening it once again to check to see if she was only dreaming.

Then she heard something, and off in the distance she saw the frog. He was sitting on a wooden fence post, watching her. She could see his chubby frog body lift up and down with his breathing. He seemed to be waiting for something. For her to follow? she wondered. As she was about to approach the frog, she was startled as someone said, ‘hello’. She turned and found a young man standing in the doorway. In his left hand was a tiny little leash with a little red collar attached to it. He grinned and said, “I see you’ve found Henry.”

It’s as if he had read her mind, the same young man with the left hand, she saw earlier sitting by the fountain.“Henry.. is that the frogs name?” she calmly responded.

_‘No, silly. Henry’s my pet Lion. He’s standing right behind you.

The girl turned and jumped back as she realized he wasn’t kidding. ‘Oh!’ she exclaimed, but the Lion, Henry, only sat and licked his enormous paw.

‘C’mon Henry,’ said Lefty. ‘Lets go’. Henry eyed Lefty and yawned, then slowly got to his feet and stretched as only a feline beast can stretch.

‘I thought you meant the frog!’ said the girl.

‘Frog? What frog?’ replied Lefty, looking around. She turned and pointed but could see nothing. Lefty only smiled at her, then said, ‘so your name is Sarah, right?’

‘How did you know THAT?’ Sarah said, astonished that he had read her mind on that, too.

‘I heard the bush call that name, and since your the only girl around I just figured it must be you.’

Meanwhile, the frog, whose name was not Henry, sat right where he’d been sitting all along, watching them. He had turned the color of the fence post and was now very difficult to see. He decided he liked the young couple as he watched them talking, so he hopped nearer to bring them good luck, but as he hopped off the fence post, it began to rain, there was a loud clap of thunder, and the moon disappeared! ‘Dratted side effects of being a frog,’ he mumbled.

Just then, Sarah, who had been about to speak again to Lefty, noticed something over his shoulder coming toward them.

‘OH NO!’ she cried. ‘A MUMMY!’_

“A Mummy? Where?,” he replied looking strangely. She was staring back at the door. “Right next to you!” But the lefted handed young man did not see anything.

“There was a mummy standing right next to you, did you not see it?!” Sarah protested,

“I should have mention, once your in this side of the door, what you see might not be what you think you saw”, Lefty replied,

‘Whoa,’ said Sarah. ‘THAT was wierd!’

‘What?’ said Lefty.

‘I think I was halucinating. Must have been another affect of that darn frog! Where did he go, anyway?’

‘I think I saw him hopping off that way,’ Lefty said, pointing through the trees. ‘and I THINK,’ Lefty continued, ‘that he is my friend Arthur’s pet frog! He must have escaped! Let’s go get him! C’mon Henry! C’mon Sarah! Hurry! After him!’

And with that, Sarah and Lefty and Henry were off at a gallop after the frog.

After what seemed like hours galloping after the frog, Sarah glanced back at the door beginning to get smaller in the distance. Further and further they went into the unknown, Sarah was reassured knowing Lefty and Henry are with her.

up ahead in the distance, they saw a shimmering light…

‘hey!’ said Sarah. ‘where’s that music coming from?’

‘I dunno,’ said Lefty. ‘Sounds like the Eagles, though. I thought they broke up?’

‘me, too, but things are very, very odd here. Let’s go check it out,’ Sarah said, as she led the way toward the sound.

‘TICKETS! TICKETS, PLEASE!’ boomed a man in a bright yellow rainsuit.

Sarah and Lefty looked at each other like two deer caught in the headlights. ‘YOU’LL HAVE TO PARK THE LION OVER THERE, BY THE COBRA,

THEY AREN’T ALLOWED IN’ he bellowed.

‘but, we haven’t any tick’ started Sarah

‘NEVERMIND, NEVERMIND. NO TIME FOR THAT NOW! HURRY! HURRY IN! YOU’LL BE LATE FOR THE SHOW!’

So Sarah and Lefty scuttled off, with the rain man fanning his hand after then to hurry them. Sarah glanced back and saw a little boy leading Harry off to be parked.

‘wonder where that frog got off to now,’ mused Lefty, as they approached their seats.

‘i don’t know,’ Sarah replied. Just then a voice announced ‘LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, PLEASE FASTEN YOUR SEATBELTS. ITS GOING TO BE A BUMPY RIDE’.

And so little did they know, it was not a concert they were attending but they were about to embark on a roller coaster at Disney World!

‘Things are getting a little weird,’ said Sarah.

‘Ya think?’ Lefty responded. ‘Now what? My ears are starting to ring.’

‘Mine too,’ said Sarah. ‘What’s that noise?’

Sarah and Lefty turned toward the roaring, wind like sound coming from behind them. Slowly everything seemed to disappear around them; the concert music faded away to nothing, the ride dissolved. Sarah and Lefty were left standing in the middle of a fog. A slight light began to glimmer, then grow. It looked like a flame from a candle, but as it grew closer to them, it grew in size as well. It shimmered and moved and glistened like nothing they’d seen before. A voice began talking from the light, so soft at first that Sarah and Lefty didn’t really notice it had began speaking.

‘Things seem odd to you here, because whatever thoughts are floating in your mind become reality here. You, Sarah, and you, Lefty, have created everything you’ve seen or heard here since you entered this place. And you will continue to do so. Things will not make sense, and you will not progress on your journey, until you begin to see how to control your thoughts and visions.’

Sarah and Lefty stared in awe at the Light. Finally, Sarah spoke. ‘but, how did we-’

‘You entered this world when you came in contact with the portal, the bush. But that’s not all. Only those who are summonded can enter. You were called here. It is your time.’

‘My time?’ said Sarah. ‘Am I dead?’

Sarah felt the Light was smiling at her, and she felt a warm wave of love come upon her.

‘Dead?’ said the Light. ‘What is that? Do you still really believe in the myths you were taught as a child? Myths developed to frighten you into submission to others? To an angry god?’ The Light chuckled. ‘No, Sarah, you are not dead, for dead does not exsist.’ After a moment, the Light continued. ‘Now go, and do what you know, deep inside in your Quiet Place, what you were meant to do here.’

With that the Light shimmered more brightly and then began to recede, leaving Sarah and Lefty alone once again in the fog, surrounded by silence.

So eerie and quiet that you swear you can hear a pin drop. Sarah and Lefty looked at each other as if they both knew what each one was thinking.

“The Frog!!” both yelled out,

Amidst all the confusion, they’ve forgotten about the frog, and lost it a while back. Sarah was still taking in all the things that she’s just been told, not sure if this is all just a dream, and that soon she’ll wake up in her little comfy bed with her mother by her side

Little did they both know, the frog wasn’t very far away, it was still after all a figment of Sarah’s imagination, it’s still ‘in’ her reality.

“This fog isn’t going away very soon, i think we should go look for the frog again before it’s too late”, Lefty suggested.

“I have a feeling, it’s not very far away, it’s not the frog we should be looking for”, Sarah responded,

“Huh!? What do you mean?”, Lefty replied,

“Didn’t you hear what the light said, we create what we see and hear in this place”, Sarah explained

Then they heard a sound.

Cuckoo! cuckoo!

They turned around and saw an old clock under the dim light.

“It’s midnight,” said Henry.

“Still i wonder where the frog went,” Sarah wondered.

“I’m here.” A dark-haired young guy with dark-brown eyes emerged from the dark.

Sarah and Lefty stared at the brown-eyed dark stranger. He smiled and reached out to shake their hands, introducing himself. “I am Conrad, a sort of guide in this place. I was sent here not to protect you or to lead you, but to facilitate your journey. Do either of you have any questions for me?”

A Never Ending Story I 3 years ago

Once upon a time in a far, far away land, where Dreams were more like realizations and not illusions meant to occupy our time, there lived a little girl.

A little girl with an imagination that stretched as far as space, and a heart that was even bigger. Each day she climbed the hill outside her house to look and ponder on the violet thorn bush that grew at the top of the hill. She knew there was something special about that bush, for when she was near it, she could feel something, kind of an electric tingly feeling, all over her body, and if she walked away from the bush, the feeling left her.

One day, while sitting near the bush eating an apple, she heard a sound. Not just any sound. It was more of a musical sound. She remembered that sound, her mother used to play it to her. Hoping to see her mother, she looked around but there was no one in sight.

I had this in another location but in case it gets lost over more entries, i thought i’d have it separated in it’s very own title theme… I really like this idea, i did this in primary school (can you imagine how long ago).

This is in fact a never ending story, we are only limited to our imaginations and creativity, all it takes is just one line or two… =)
