own a farm

I want to have a small farm to grow my own food in a garden and raise pets and rare breed animals, organically and sustainably.

My husband and I signed up for a class on running a small farm business. The orientation is tomorrow, then there will be a 2 day business readiness workshop, then 2 nights a week for about 8 weeks.

Last year, my husband and I bought 33 acres. We want to grow organic livestock. Now we are in the process of getting our place ready to sell so we can move out there. One step at a time, but I can’t wait!

I’ve always wanted to have a small family farm, be able to raise my kids with fields and teach make sure they knew that real food came from the ground and not from a bag or can. I’ve been planning on spending an internship on a farm and I found a website to help me do it: Organic Volunteers .

I want to live somewhere in the northwest: Oregon, Washinton, Idaho, even Montana.

I am planning to live in a farm with my husband, we hope everything goes well and achieve our goal in 2 or 3 years.

I really really want to live on a farm. I want a huge garden and goats and horses and a barn and rabbits. And a milk cow. Or a gamoosa is fine if the farm is in Egypt but noooo egyptain weird sheep. See above. Ug the weird tails. Only American sheep y’all!

In theory, I’d like to have a farm with methane, a diverse set of lifeforms, renewable energy, sustainable soil management, compost, earthworms, etc.
