I don’t follow it 100% but I do follow it. For example today I didn’t make my bed but I did do a loas of washing. That is way more than I did preFlyLady.
I am happy with what I have achieved so I will retire this goal but I will continue doing it!!! 3 years ago

I should probably change this goal to reflect that my morning routine should not included putting the alarm clock on snooze several times, than finally drag myself out of bed, no eating breakfast in bed while reading a book even though I am late for work already, not thinking the trip to work will take me only 15 minutes, while it takes 30, and not leaving the stuff behind I wanted to take with me to have a stress-free day, and not thinking about the things I absolutely need to get done immediately, because I was supposed to do them yesterday. 3 years ago

Maybe it has something to do with the self sabotage? See new goal here. I think it does. Everytime I have a great day and feel awesome, I follow it up with a do nothing day. In this case Thurs was so successful that I followed it with TWO unproductive days (in terms of morning routine- I am proud of my 43t musings today. I have really looked at my behaviour and identified things!)
I KNOW that life runs smoother when I do this, I really want it to become habit.Often I end up doing some of these things in the afternoon rather than when I wake up. I need to jump out of bed and look straight at my wall for my routine!!! 4 years ago

3. While you are in the bathroom Swish and Swipe
4. Grab a load of laundry and start the washer
5. Check your calendar for today’s activities
6. Eat something good for you, take your medicine and vitamins
7. Drink your water.

I have been pondering the importance of a morning routine over the last few weeks. I have come to some amazing conclusions. The days that I follow a routine of sorts (not ness my set routine but just a basic human routine)
my day flows so much smoother. I have control of my thoughts generally for the WHOLE day and I get about 300% more done. So it is VITAL that I follow a routine and preferable the one that I have set in accordance to my life goals.
Soooo today, Friday 28th Dec I did as follows…
Get up 8.27am turned off alarm 2x
Make my bed yes
Check calander/diary no but did last night
Write To Do list no but on hols at my aunts
Supplements & light breakfast yes
Fill Water Bottles yes
Exercise (either gym, run, treadmill, video etc) no

Due to all the emotional stuff that I have been dealing with my routine has slipped. I KNOW that this is why I need to establish routines in my life so that when IF, my life slips out of my control again that the basics will still be done. I have written up my list all pretty and put it up on my wall. Now I need to implement this into my life. I had the making bed part down pat but the last couple of days I haven’t done it. Since becoming a member of www.flylady.net I have developed a basic morning routine. It has really changed my life, however I am not consistant enough in doing it. My goal is to tweak my current morning routine to fit in with more specific goals. An entry on 43T led me to a website www.stevepavlina.com that has had a huge impact on my life in various ways. Also reading non fiction books and listening to various media has made me realise that I need to incorporate more into my current morning routine. While I do still need to be better at my current one as well.
I want to start getting up early in the morning as I know that this is my best time. Steve Pavlina suggests doing 30 day trials of things that you are interested in implementing in your life. I have done this with my Stop Drinking Coffee Goal. I was going to make waking up at a certain time one of my goals. I realise though that I wouldn’t post often as that goal on 43T would bore me. If I make a morning routine my goal then I can post my progress on all of it. This will keep me a LOT more motivated and therefore more likely to succeed!!!
