Learn how to roller skate

so, i’ve come to find out that my city, nashville that is, has a roller derby team. i went to my first game, and i fell in love with the sport. so i checked out a couple more games, and there happened to be an info desk for girls who wanted to try out for the derby. to my surprise, they didn’t care how much experience you had, in my case, it was none. they told me to come in anyway. as i expected, i was the only chic that didn’t know how to skate. story of my life. but…i attended, i fell on my ass and i got back up and tried again. i will be purchasing my skates in a couple of days, who knows, maybe i can skate with the nashville rollergirls one day, regardless, it feels damn good to take on this bad ass sport. you gotta start somewhere.

I can’t seem to get around to buying myself a pair of skates. I keep dropping hints to people that I would like a pair so we will see.

Somehow this favorite childhood past time escaped my life. I never owned a pair of skates nor have I ever been skating. It looks fun and I want to learn now. You are never too old to learn right?
